In our Institute's thesis master's programs, the thesis defense processes are based on defined guidelines (thesis writing guide) and forms, which should be effectively and accurately carried out in accordance with established institutional processes, grounded in a participatory, inclusive, and sustainable organizational structure.
Before the thesis defense in thesis master's programs, the following steps and forms must be completed:
Obtaining the Similarity Report: The student submits their thesis, which has been approved by the advisor and prepared in accordance with the thesis writing guide, to the advisor. If the advisor decides that the thesis is ready for defense, the advisor sends the thesis along with the suitability form (ENO.FR.024) to sbe@klu.edu.tr for the plagiarism report.
Similarity Report Result: The email sent by the advisor from sbe@klu.edu.tr to klutezkontrol@gmail.com is reviewed. If the plagiarism result is 30% or above, both the advisor and the student are notified, and the thesis must be revised, repeating the above process. If the plagiarism rate is below 30%, the plagiarism report and the Thesis Control Suitability form, along with the following documents, should be sent by the advisor via the EBYS system to the Institute Directorate through the relevant Department Chair:

Post-Defense Documents: The Master's Thesis Defense Jury Evaluation Form (ENO.FR.046), jury reports, and the Master's Thesis Defense Meeting Minutes (ENO.FR.045) must be sent through the EBYS system by the advisor to the Institute Directorate via the Department Chair.
Post-Defense Documents (Successful/Revision): For students who are successful, the advisor sends the final version of the thesis for publication along with the plagiarism report to sbe@klu.edu.tr. The email sent by the advisor from sbe@klu.edu.tr to klutezkontrol@gmail.com is reviewed. Students and advisors whose final plagiarism report is below 30% will receive the report. If the report is 30% or above, the advisor and student are notified, and the thesis must be revised, repeating the process above.
For students who need revisions, the procedures specified in phase 1 must be initiated within three months after the defense date.
Thesis Publication: A student with a final plagiarism report below 30% must print their thesis according to the Thesis Writing Guide within one month after the defense date.
Thesis Submission: Three printed copies of the thesis, three CDs containing the PDF version of the thesis, ENO.FR.031 - Graduation and Thesis Submission Form, ENO.FR.012 - Clearance Certificate, and the YÖK Thesis Data Entry Form, along with a Graduate Information System printout, must be submitted to the Institute's Student Affairs. After the necessary checks, one printed copy of the thesis and one CD is submitted by the student to the Library Directorate. The other two printed theses, two CDs, and other forms and documents are submitted by the student to our Institute's Student Affairs.
